Recyclable glasses
Over the last few years, the BSF has been using reusable glasses. You receive these recyclable plastic glasses with your drink, in exchange for a 1€ deposit. This deposit is returned to you when you hand back your glass.
Why?
- They significantly reduce the amount of waste produced by the event.
- They help to reduce the festival's ecological footprint (one reusable glass is 25 times less polluting than one plastic throwaway glass, and 20 times less polluting than a compostable glass).
- They help to keep the festival sites cleaner and tidier for everyone.
- They can be taken home as souvenirs of the BSF.
Recycling
You do this at home because you have to. We recycle at the festival because we are responsible people and because it's crucial nowadays. The BSF's four different sites offer very little or no waste material which would normally be placed in blue bins (plastic, metal and cardboard). Moreover, visitors are not allowed to enter the festival site with bottles (either glass or plastic).
However, there are blue bins dotted around the three sites (Place des Palais, Places des Musées and Mont des Arts), so you can dispense of your cans and plastic bottles before entering the sites and when moving around between sites. Be eco-friendly and use these bins whenever you can!
Mobility
It's never easy to find a parking space in central Brussels. Cars are also polluting things!
So we encourage you to to come to the BSF via alternative forms of transport, such as public transport (www.stib.be and www.sncb.be),by bike (http://www.villo.be) or on foot.
