The Show- Everybody has a dream, and dreams in action are what reality is made of. This is the story of a dreamer who wanted action. On a starry-filled night a young lady looks to the stars and asks the heavens to help her fulfil a long awaited hidden desire, the desire to become a "Burlesque Star." A mini-musical journey of the adventures of a baby burlesquer, "Burlesque Star" is a Comedie-Musical Burlesque Spectacle. Amidst a colourful cast of vidid living, multi-talented, and strip-teasing artists, where our ingénue has a hot-wild musical adventure of self discovery. An original text and musical score, hot choreography, burlesque acts, and a musical theatre based thru-line are the ingredients to this recipes for a Comedie-Musical Burlesque Spectacle. One of the very first of it's kind, following in the broadway footsteps of Sondheim, Laurents, of Styne’s Gypsy, Quinn Lemley's From Burlesque to Broadway, and La Gentry de Paris Revue avec Dita Von Teese.
Keeping true to the original and new definitions of the word Burlesque, "Burlesque Star" is a spectacle where zany personalities, out of nowhere surprises, sentilating sex appeal with a sentimental touch, and crazy-fun song and dance transport the imagination from times of doing the Charleston with a Flapper to those pin-up days of Minsky's at the Winter Garden Burlesque Revue in New City. It is a mix with a little Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland meets Gypsy Rose Lee on Broadway. Written and Composed and directed by Brian Scott Bagley for the Brussels Summer Festival 2011.
